Sign Up to Mālama a wetland: School kids and adults can help us to care for our wetlands. These community-based workdays typically consist of removing trash, selectively removing invasive plant species as well as planting native plants to help restore balance to the environment. Our restoration activities are guided by botanical, environmental, and cultural experts, to ensure that our activities are always beneficial and never harmful. When you “mālama a wetland” you help to create an environmental asset for present and future generations to enjoy.
Lāʻie Mauka Cleanup Days: Wetland Project areas are scheduled to be cleaned and restored. We are currently working on the greater Lāʻie Muliwai, the Mauka section “Lāʻie mauka”, on the eastern side of South Kihei Road, which has regularly scheduled cleanup days. These events usually start at 8:30 am and should last 4-5 hours. Bring a hat, gloves, sunscreen, a personal water bottle, and sturdy footwear. Contact us on Facebook or email our volunteer coordinator at mauiwetlands@gmail.com if you would like to volunteer to join us.

Special Events: Learn traditional stories and gather your Kilo with cultural experts and storytellers. Please join us for some special Culturally-based Events held in the wetlands.
